All patients must register on the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission website and obtain a valid MMCC patient ID number. Patients do not have to pay to register with the Commission.
During an appointment, the patient will meet with a licensed physician that is certified and registered with the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission. The doctor will evaluate the patient's current health conditions, medical history, and previous medical treatments. The doctor and the patient will discuss treatment options. If the physician determines that the patient qualifies for medical cannabis, then the doctor will submit an online written certification to the MMCC which is linked to the registered patient's ID number. The written certification simply states the patient's name, date of birth, and address; the physician's name; the date of the appointment; and the qualifying medical condition(s). After acquiring the written certification, a patient may purchase medical cannabis from a licensed dispensary in Maryland.
An identification (ID) card is OPTIONAL. If a patient would like an ID card, they may request and purchase one from the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission after receiving a written certification from Integrative Physicians.
Treatment with Integrative Physicians is an ongoing process. The physician will monitor patient progress and adjust the treatment plan if necessary.
