MMCC Names Pre-Approved Growers & Processors

August 15 was an important day for the progress of medical cannabis treatment in Maryland. Yesterday in Baltimore, the Natalie M. LaPrade Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission announced the growers and processors who have received Stage 1 pre-approval for licenses. From a group of 145 grower applications and 124 processor applications, the Commission selected 15 growers and 15 processors who will move on to Stage 2 of the application process.

The Regional Economic Studies Institute (RESI) at Towson University will oversee review of Dispensary applications.

The Commission has set a tentative date of summer 2017 for medical cannabis to become available to patients.
